SEO & Web Development Resources
Welcome to 1stclick.co.uk. Here I aim to publish my knowledge on the topics of SEO and Web development. Many people have asked me how to set up a website. I often find myself with too little time to give them a proper grounding and send them off on the web to do some reading. The amount of resources available out there is astounding. However, as I'm sure many of you would agree, SEO and web development is an art over a science, meaning every take on it has some value. I have worked in the industry for a good couple of years and have obtained a degree in Computer Science from a highly regarded university. My understanding of the art is therefore grounded in concepts such as correctness, completeness and complexity of algorithms, robustness and security of systems and development processes. Although geeky by nature, I have a love for web development due to the chance to be creative and original. Hopefully, the artistically minded among you will find this website a useful resource too. Aside from articles I will be releasing useful tools, written in PHP. Have fun!
News
20/11/08 - No news for a while. I've been busy working on bookitholidays and various other Traveltek projects. I've had a spare 5 mins to start building a glossary of terms that I will link to while writing my articles.
30/09/08 - For the Black Hats... a nice little teaser on ARP spoofing and packet sniffing. For the White Hats... Did you know that using a nonce to salt your data is a must have security measure?
09/09/08 - Here is an interesting article on swapping that I think you should read. It applies to any skill level and teaches a useful lesson in finding tweeks and being meticulous.
04/09/08 - I'm sure some of your are thinking that this site is a little grey, so I've decided to add some color with a hex color chart. A tool we've all used at some point. I've also put the code up for you to use.
18/07/08 - The first tool is now available. A md5 dictionary. It is simply for educational purposes and only has about 25k terms in the database. The same dictionary will be used for other other tools in the future such as a random word generator... so stay tuned!
